Terms of Service

Last updated: August 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Morae, the browser-based video editor available at morae.online (the "Service"), operated by Morae ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Morae is a video editing application that runs entirely in your web browser. Video processing — decoding, editing, applying effects and encoding — happens locally on your device. We do not receive, store or process your video files on our servers.

2. Accounts

You can use the core editor without an account. Optionally, you may sign in with Google to synchronize your plan, settings and entitlements across devices. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the account you sign in with. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service or violate these Terms.

3. Free and paid tiers

The core editor is currently free. We may offer a paid tier ("PRO") providing additional content such as premium effect and asset packs delivered from our servers. Prices, inclusions and billing terms for PRO will be stated at the point of purchase. Purchases may be processed by a third-party payment partner acting as merchant of record; their terms will apply to payment processing. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the videos you edit and export with Morae. Because processing is local, we never take possession of your footage. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to the material you edit, including any music you add.

6. Our intellectual property

The Service, including the Alive Engine, its code, design and branding, is our property and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding or to copy the Service.

7. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may update these Terms; material changes will be indicated by updating the date above, and continued use constitutes acceptance.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
