Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data Morae ("we", "us") collects when you use the editor at morae.online, and what we do with it. The short version: your videos stay on your device, and we collect very little.
1. Your video content
Morae processes video entirely on your device using your browser's built-in media capabilities (WebCodecs). Your footage, audio and exported files are never uploaded to, stored on, or readable by our servers. There is no cloud processing step.
2. Data we collect
Without an account: the editor works without sign-in. Basic technical data (such as IP address and user agent) may appear in the standard server logs of our hosting and content delivery providers when the page loads, as with any website.
With an account (optional): if you sign in with Google, we receive and store your email address, display name and avatar URL, plus your plan and entitlement status, in our backend database.
Usage telemetry: we collect a small number of anonymous product events (for example, that an export completed and its duration) to improve the editor. Telemetry never includes your video content or file names.
Purchases: if you buy PRO, payment is handled by our payment partner as merchant of record. We do not receive or store your card details. We store the fact of the purchase and the entitlement it grants.
3. Where data is stored
Account data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, on infrastructure located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Session tokens are stored locally in your browser's storage so you stay signed in.
4. What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't run advertising or advertising trackers.
- We don't upload, scan or analyze your video content.
5. Sharing
We share data only with the service providers necessary to run Morae: our backend/database provider (Supabase), our hosting/CDN providers, Google (for optional sign-in), and our payment partner (for purchases). Each receives only what is necessary for its function.
6. Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]; we will complete deletion within 30 days.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Contact us at the address below to exercise them.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We will update this policy as the Service evolves and reflect changes by updating the date above.
